St. Joseph's Catholic High School - Europe Trip 2014

St. Joseph’s Catholic High School – Europe Trip ...

28January2014

Sikorski Sausages Co. Ltd. was pleased to sponsor an educational trip in March 2014 for St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. This trip provided the students with invaluable experience learning about Canadian participation in both world wars.

In March 2014 a group of 44 senior students travelled to Holland, Belgium and France for a tour of famous cities, cemeteries and museums related to Canadian participation in both world wars. A trip like this is extremely valuable and we would like to thank our major sponsor Sikorski Sausages for their incredible generosity helping us get there. Students were able to offset the cost of their trip through several fundraisers supported by our new partner. Thank you so much!

Our trip to Holland, Belgium and France visiting important battlefield sites was an amazing experience. We visited the Ann Frank house in Amsterdam, visited Flanders Fields and participated in the Last Post at the Menin Gate in Belgium. Our students walked on Juno Beach, the rocky beach at Dieppe and travelled through the trenches at Vimy Ridge. Nothing could make you more proud to be a Canadian! There was no better way to finish the trip than a few days in the most beautiful city in the world – Paris. On behalf of the 44 students and four chaperones who made this amazing trip, we would like to thank Sikorski Sausages for their incredible support with our fundraising efforts. This is an experience we will remember for a lifetime!

Here is a letter from Norm Dinner from St. Joseph’s High School as to this trip.
